Settings: Storage (`/company/settings/storage`)

Settings: Storage (/company/settings/storage)

Purpose

Storage settings align system stock behavior with how your team handles physical stock movement: supplier-order capacity rules, warehouses, and inventory categories.

When to use

  • During initial stock-process setup.
  • When warehouse or store routines change.
  • When recurring stock mismatches suggest policy misalignment.
  • When inventory teams need clearer category grouping for counts and replenishment.

Key actions

  • Configure supplier-order storage mode (off, warn, or block) and save company settings.
  • Manage warehouses (names, weight limits, current load).
  • Define inventory categories on the same page (#inventory-categories) for receiving, counting, and reports.

Common mistakes

  • Designing settings around ideal process instead of real behavior.
  • Changing storage logic without briefing daily operators.
  • Skipping validation after updates.
  • Category names that do not match warehouse language.

Permissions and visibility

  • Storage capacity and warehouses: users who can create, edit, or delete inventory.
  • Inventory categories: full inventory edit permission.
  • Changes affect all users who touch inventory flows.
