Settings: Storage (`/company/settings/storage`)
Settings: Storage (/company/settings/storage)
Purpose
Storage settings align system stock behavior with how your team handles physical stock movement: supplier-order capacity rules, warehouses, and inventory categories.
When to use
- During initial stock-process setup.
- When warehouse or store routines change.
- When recurring stock mismatches suggest policy misalignment.
- When inventory teams need clearer category grouping for counts and replenishment.
Key actions
- Configure supplier-order storage mode (off, warn, or block) and save company settings.
- Manage warehouses (names, weight limits, current load).
- Define inventory categories on the same page (
#inventory-categories) for receiving, counting, and reports.
Common mistakes
- Designing settings around ideal process instead of real behavior.
- Changing storage logic without briefing daily operators.
- Skipping validation after updates.
- Category names that do not match warehouse language.
Permissions and visibility
- Storage capacity and warehouses: users who can create, edit, or delete inventory.
- Inventory categories: full inventory edit permission.
- Changes affect all users who touch inventory flows.
